AustriaGesäuse National Park, Day 3: Climbing

Our local Mountain rescue service GRS Tržič celebrates 80 years of its existence and therefore they also prepared a summer camp in nearby Gesäuse National Park in Austria. They also invited our Mountaineering section and many of us decided to join them. In the end, there was around 50 people in the camp with different activities on our minds.

Great day for climbing and Barbi, Ana, Slavc and me took the car and together we went to Johnsbach and there we started with the hike towards the start of our climbing routes below Kleiner Ödstein. My climbing partner was Barbi and our climbing route was Waidhofnerweg, V-, 453 m. We had fun all the way to the top in a great rock. At the top we met again with Slavc and Ana ant together we abseiled back to the bottom of the rock. We finished this awesome day in a camp, where the beer and the food were already waiting for us.

Preparations. We chose route number 4 and its original  variant in 15th pitch (german: Seillänge).

Approaching the wall

Since all routes had same first pitch, we had to wait a while
