After work Milton and I visited Dovžanova gorge.

The Dovžanova soteska Gorge

The Dovžanova soteska Gorge is protected as a natural monument because of its remains of fossils, which were found in the rocks of the Palaeozoic era. The tectonic forces and the powerful current of the Tržiška Bistrica River uncovered a varied rock structure which is also reflected in diverse vegetation. The Dovžanova soteska Gorge is surrounded by the natural Kušpegar’s towers or pyramids on the eastern slope and by the mountain Borova peč on the western side. Wild streams of the Tržiška Bistrica River have been excavating a deep gorge for centuries, uncovering stones that witnessed a long and interesting geological past. Various types of limestone, sandstone, breccia and conglomerate can be found along the path to the Exhibition-Educational Centre in the Dolina village.
