Slovenia: MTB 4P DETLCA

Last year (15465) I attended the 4P Detlca event and this year I attended it too with Grega and Tevž. We gathered in Selo pri Vodicah and together we did another four leaflet clover on the slopes of Rašica with nice ascents and amazing single track trails - Garmin Connect. We ended the day with a picnic. Big thanks to all the guys organizing the event and building the trails.

Slovenia: Dom pri izviru Završnice Mountain Hut

The Mountains called us again. Fresh snow around 2000 meters didn't convince us, so we decided to do a hike to Dom pri izviru Završnice Mountain Hut, 1425 m. We were mostly alone the whole way and the scenery was amazing, so the photos will tell you more.

Slovenia: Bronco The Catahoula

In the afternoon, we decided to occupy the freshly cut nearby meadow and have some fun with Bronco and his puller.

On average, a healthy Catahoula Leopard Dog can reach speeds of around 40 to 50 kilometers per hour. However, some exceptionally fit and well-trained Catahoulas might be able to achieve even higher speeds for short bursts.

Slovenia: Old Motorbikes on Prelaz Ljubelj

International Oldtimer's mountain Race is organised every 2nd Sunday in September on the gravel road over the old Ljubelj mountain pass. This year the organiser went on vacation, so only some enthusiasts arrived on their own and so did we - Garmin Connect.

Usually more than 50 motorbikes, but this year we had to be happy with just a few of them.

Just a perfect day for the event.

Slovenia: Kofce gora, Toplar and Veliki vrh

Once more Nada, Bronco and me decided to visit some nearby two-thousanders and this time also Ana joined us. We started the hike below mountain farm Matizovec and past Ravni we reached the Janez Krstnik chapel below Kofce. We continued to our first peak on Košuta ridge, Kofce gora, 1967 m. After a short beak we continued over Toplar, 2000 m, to Veliki vrh, 2088 m, the highest point of the day. On our way back we made a stop in Dom na Kofcah mountain hut and then we returned back home - Garmin Connect.

Below Kofce in a clearing in the middle of a grove stands the lovely chapel of St. John the Baptist.

Slovenia: Mountain Pasture Planina Prevala

Gordana and Sanja visited Nada at our place and we decided to do some hiking. One of the most interesting paths lead from Ljubelj to mountain pasture Planina Prevala and together we hiked it - Garmin Connect.

The picturesque trail takes you from Ljubelj through the Born Tunnel to a mountain pasture at an elevation of 1311 m.

 

In the 200 metre long tunnel was built in 1891 at the behest of Baron Julius Born.
