Slovenia: Košutica and Korošica

Last year (16144) Nada's brother Jure and his girlfriend Sara visited us and this year they did it again. Once more we did some hiking and like last year, we had Baba or Košutica on our menu again. It was a beautiful day, unfortunately Jure didn't reach the summit, since he had swollen ankles, but he still made it to the mountain pasture Korošica - Garmin Connect.

Bronco on top of Košutica with a view all the way to Triglav.

Jure was waiting on Korošica.

Veliki vrh.

Bronco was waiting for Nada.

View to Austrian side with Grlovec.

We signed into the logbook.

Kamniška murka (Nigritella lithopolitanica) is protected in our country.

First group photo.

One more with Triglav.

And off course selfie.

View to Košuta ridge.

Arriving to Korošica mountain pasture.

We met with Jure again.

Slovenia: Golica

Statehood Day (Slovene: Dan državnosti) is a holiday that occurs on every 25 June in Slovenia to commemorate the country's declaration of independence. Today, Bronco and me used it for a hike to Golica - Garmin Connect.

Towards the hut.

Summit of Golica, 1835 m.

Selfie time.

Finally the sky opened again. But only for a while.

Geocache found:

AustriaSetiče, Kriva peč and Ressnig-Teich

Setiče is a nearby peak in neighboring Austria, that we already conquered in 2018 (14401). Today Bronco joined us and with him we prolonged the trip to Kriva peč - Garmin Connect. We all ended the day near the pond Ressnig-Teich, where we had a nice refreshing end of the day.

Sele (Zell) lies in a side valley on the north of the Karawank on the Slovenian border about 20 km south of Celovec and 6 km south of Borovlje.

Easy marked way leading to the summit.

Stops on the way.

Nada.

Bronco spotted the group of Chamois.

With Bronco we reached the summit. Since we left Nada behind, we continued towards Kriva peč.

View to Košuta Massif.

Ridge to Kriva peč.

Looking back to Setiče, where Nada will wait for us.

On Kriva peč. An unknown side peak of Setiče.

View to lake Homeliško jezero.

Nada was patiently waiting on the top.

Nada, Bronco and Tuši.

Let's go back.

Hurry up Nada.

Almost back in the valley.

According to the 2001 census, 89.1% of the inhabitants of Sele are of Carinthian Slovenian descent, which is the highest percentage of all municipalities in the state of Koroška.

Refreshment in nearby Ferlacher Badesee, called also Ressnig-Teich or Boroveljsko pregradno jezero.

Bronco doesn't want to swim, but he likes to bark if someone else does.

After a while we Bronco and me did a quick geocaching hike.

Humberk - Burg Hollenburg is situated on a rock on the northern slope of the Drava valley.

Under the road.

This is as far Bronco goes into the water.

Croatia / Slovenia: Krapina and Slivnica Lake

In the morning Bronco, Nada and me did a walk in the city of Krapina, where we Kajbumščak running event took place. Soon we left Hrvatsko Zagorje and we decided to stop at Slivnica Lake, where we stopped for a while.

Trimmed grass, that was our goal.

Goodbye weekend house.

Walking on a windy day in Krapina.

Izidor Strok (1911 - 1984) was Croatian communist politician and the national hero of Yugoslavia.

Runners were arriving to the finish line and we patiently waited for them.

Near place Gorica pri Slivnici lies man-made lake, to which some say Kozjansko sea – Slivnica lake.

The lake was made in year 1976 by the damming of Dobrina and Ločnica stream. The barrier was built for needs of technological water for ironworks Štore and as reservoir of flood wave.

Approximately 119 kinds of birds and 32 spieces of fish, crustaceans, lampreys, frogs and shellfish are inhabiting the lake. It is also possible to find some of the rare species of plants.

Bronco, the lake is 14 meters deep and you are using only 10 cm of it.

Chillin'.

Time to win again.
